I have a heart to maintain Crosslake’s up-north-character while looking ahead to future planning. I have experience and extensive knowledge working with city government and know how things work. I recognize what is expected of being a City Council Member and I am ready to serve. I understand the process of annual budgeting, balancing the needs of all city departments and maintaining fiscal responsibility. I have been a part of hiring public safety personal (police chief, officers, and firefighters), solving economic development challenges (improving bond ratings), listening to the community, and asking the tough questions. I am a problem solver and recognize the need to compromise. I will work for the people and will represent the people of Crosslake with the utmost integrity and transparency. I know what it takes, and I will hold myself accountable to the people of Crosslake.
Our city will continue to have a variety of road projects in the coming years. We need to solidify our Assessment Policy. Residents and business owners need to have a clear understanding of what the cost is and how that cost will be distributed. We need to be fair, objective, and considerate of our policy and the impact it has on our taxpayers. I will have clear and open discussions with our residents, properly plan future projects and communicate those plans frequently across multiple channels. I am committed to straightforward and transparent communication with the people of Crosslake.
We need to look ahead at solving the lack of market-rate housing.
